Messiah Wannabes

After the huge fail of the May 21st Judgement day prophecy, the debate on how many religious charlatans are out there, has increased. What's my opinion about that? A LOT.  Don't get me wrong, I don't believe every religious leader is a charlatan but its no lie that false prophets and false messiahs are deceiving lot's of people. But are you aware of how narrow minded some people can be? Well, I have a list of some of the most outrageous false prophets/messiahs that are out there:

1- Harold Camping:

Obviously.... This 89 year old terrorist made people waste their life savings and look as complete idiots. Now he says the real deal is on October  21st. Will his followers still believe him? Probably. Still, I have a feeling he will confront judgement day a bit earlier.

He knows what he is talking about, right?

2 - Jose Luis De Jesus Miranda:

Puerto Rican pride... NOT! This man is an ex-convict who claims to be Christ and at the same time the Anti-Christ. How could that be? Ask his followers who tattoo themselves with the 666 just like him. He also has a special date, he says that in the year 2012 he will transform himself into an immortal "glorified" being. I don't know if he would actually like his transformation since he is having plenty of fun as a human being. He drinks top quality wine, loves collecting Rolex watches and drives casually on one of many BMWs and Mercedes that his followers humbly offer him. His ministry is called "Growing in Grace". I prefer calling it "Growing in Craze"

                                                                        Modok?

                                                                     Gotcha!

3- Sun Myung Moon:

I actually like his name.... Anyways, he is an elite,  91 year old Korean business man. Yeah, business man. He is the founder of the Unification Church, which ironically, is composed mainly from apostates. But he is also founder of organizations like  "New World Communications". (Google it for more info) He and his church claim to have communication with the spirits of Buddha, Confucius, Muhammad, Jesus and many more.  They call themselves "Moonies" (from Moon) , Sun Myung Moon calls them "Monies".

                                                                 To much Narnia?

4- Claude Maurice Marcel Vorilhon:

You can call him Rael. This french guy has an imagination that Steven Spielberg would envy.  He says he was visited by aliens of outer space that gave him a very special mission: to spread the TRUTH. That we, humans, were created by scientists from another galaxy through DNA manipulation. He also says that the ET's gave the same message to other prophets but people were to dumb to understand it. Also, the aliens took him to another planet where he met Jesus, Buddha, Moses and Muhammad. I don't really know what they talked about, politics maybe?

Oh! Did I mention he was a singer at his early years? Here is his discography:

1966: "Sacrée sale gueule"
1966: "Dans un verre de vin"
1967: "Le Miel et la cannelle" (Honey and cinnamon)
1967: "Madam' Pipi" (Mrs. Toilet attendant)
1967: "Monsieur votre femme me trompe" (Mister, your wife is cheating on me)
1967: "Quand on se mariera" (When we'll get married)

This is what happens when you take
                                                   Star Trek to seriously.

So, those are just some of the bizarre religious leaders out there that, believe it or not, have thousands of followers. One of the questions that come to my mind is: Which are lying and which actually believe what they are teaching? Which are crafty greedy bastards and which are messed up pinheads?
